Never had anything to do with Mack before and the newest truck on the place is a mid 90s Pete. Have most every breed on the place and no preference.ISX 12. The harder an engine has to work, the faster it will wear out. A 12 will not have to work as hard as an 8.3 to accomplish the same task. We had the ISX in two 320 Pete's, DPF system, and in two years, we never had any problems with them, and i still see them running around locally. Be careful when removing the egr valve mount bolts, they have a bad tendency to break off in the exh. manifold. Work them off slowly and use a lot of quality penetrating oil.
